Both of these hospitals specialize in medical services that include emergency and acute care, pediatrics, cardiovascular surgery, and more.

Regency Hospital is the newest hospital to join the Florence and Pee Dee region. It offers 40 beds for patients and extends both acute and long-term healthcare services. All three hospitals also account for some of the leading employers in the Florence area.

Golf Courses

Florence offers seven different golf courses for players of all skill levels. The courses include the Country Club of South Carolina, Florence Country Club, The Crossing Golf Club, and Oakdale Country Club as well as three golf clubs that operate under The Traces brand name at Meadows, Creekside, and Woodlands.

Civic Center

Florence-Darlington Technical School operates in Florence as well as nearby cities Hartsville, Lake City, and Mullins. It offers training in science and healthcare studies and has more than 250 enrolled students. It operates as part of the South Carolina Technical College System.

District 1 Schools

The public school system is nationally recognized for excellence and offers 18 schools that include 12 elementary schools, three high schools, and three middle schools. The school system also has an adult learning center, a vocational training center, and two alternative learning schools.

The enrollment for the school system tops more than 14,000 students. In addition to serving the city itself, the system also serves students from the outlying Florence area and surrounding counties.
